What it does

An open-source AI coding agent for VS Code, JetBrains IDEs and the terminal. With a Kilo account you can pick from 500+ models and switch mid-task; Kilo says you pay the model provider's rate with no markup. It also offers a cloud agent and automated PR reviews. MIT licensed.

VS Code and JetBrains users who want an open-source agent inside the editor and a choice of models.

How to set it up

  1. VS Code: install Kilo Code from the VS Code Marketplace (kilocode.Kilo-Code).

  2. JetBrains: Settings → Plugins → search for "Kilo Code".

  3. CLI:

    npm install -g @kilocode/cli

curl -fsSL https://kilo.ai/cli/install | bash

  4. Run kilo in a project folder (or open the Kilo panel in your editor) and sign in to your Kilo account.
